Men vs. Women

This is the difference between men and women.

Greg brings Cambry to the park in her footie pajamas.

I bring her to the park in matching shirt, hoodie, and bow.

But really, the girl has fun and looks cute either way!

Thanksgiving 2012

This year we spent Thanksgiving at my parent's house with family and friends. Both my sisters and their families were in town and also two sweet girls from our youth group spent the day with us.

I loved having such a big group. Growing up, Thanksgiving was usually spent with just the 4 of us. Most of our family lived out of state so holidays were usually small. It was nice, but I also always thought it would be fun to have really big family events. My sister and I used to say that we would have 6 kids each so that our kids would get to have the big, fun, crazy, family events. Well, I can't say that I still want 6, but I do love big family events.

We played games, cooked food, entertained the babies, and just enjoyed each other's company most of the day. In the afternoon we had the big meal with so much yummy food. Then we went on a walk around the green belt to make room for dessert. There were a lot of other families outside walking so I guess we weren't the only ones with that idea. The weather was great for a little stroll.

My parent's house was decorated beautifully for Christmas, and of course my mom always sets such a beautiful table. One day I need to just go to their house and take a million pictures of every detail and pin them all so I can look through them when I need some decorating inspiration.

I have so much to be Thankful for. Jesus my Savior, my wonderful husband, adorable daughter, loving family, health, great home, freedom, our church, so many sweet friends, God's word, so many great Christian resources easily accessible, getting to be a stay at home mom, kind neighbors, our Bible Study group, Greg's job, and so much more. Happy Thanksgiving!

November Catch Up

I have not been good about blogging lately. Where has November gone?? Well Greg had to go to Virginia for a business trip and was gone for 11 nights! That is the longest I have had to take care of Cambry by myself. She was so sweet and good the whole time but I was still exhausted and ready for him to be home by the end. I went to Waco to see his family and stayed with them one night. She did good on the trip and it was fun to see everyone. I also stayed at my parents house one night here. Other than that I just stayed busy working out, running errands, and meeting friends for play dates.

I am very excited about Thanksgiving! Both sisters are coming in town so it will be a fun family time. Then I guess that will officially kick off Christmas season, although I feel like all the stores have kicked it off months ago. I have only bought one thing so far. I need to get busy. This time last year I think I had all my shopping done since I didn't know when Cambry would come.

Cambry is turning one in less than a month!! I thought I would be so so sad but actually I do not feel that sad. I can't guarantee I will not be sad on the actual day, but for now I am just so in love with the little baby / little girl she has become. I am having fun planning her party already. We are keeping it small, pretty much just family. Actually, I think we may end up having a lot of family there which is really exciting, so it may not be that small after all. And of course I am looking all over Pinterest for ideas. I don't want to get all crazy but I do love crafts and anything involving pretty paper and or ribbon so I am having fun making a few decorations.

Well I guess I will finish this post off with a few pictures from this month. I have not taken a single picture on our nice camera this month, only iphone photos. So here they are.

Monthly Photos: Month 11

Our baby girl is 11 months old! She is starting to seem less like a baby and more of a toddler. She is so adorable and fun.

Size: Not sure on the weight/height. I would guess she is still around 21 lbs. She wears around size 12 or 12-18 month clothes, size 3 shoe, and a size 3 diaper.

Likes: Her doll, pulling up on everything, opening and closing doors and cabinets, pulling on cords, holding our hands and "walking", dogs, watching videos of herself, brushing her teeth, and going to the park.

Dislikes: Me leaving the room for more than a minute, having her sippy cup on her tray (must throw it on the floor after taking a sip), not being able to open a cabinet or door, etc.

Working On: Learning the word no. Currently she smiles and laughs at me when I sternly tell her no. She will take a few steps while holding on to the couch and will take steps while we hold her arms. Still working on getting her to sign "more" and "all done".

Eating: For breakfast she eats baby oatmeal mixed with 3 cubes of puréed fruit and half of a banana mashed up. For lunch she usually eats grapes (cut up) and a sandwich (wheat pita bread, lunch meat, and melted cheese torn in pieces). For dinner she usually has fruit/veggie purée, yogurt, and other random things. We sometimes try to give her what we are eating but she usually doesn't like it too much. Her favorite foods right now are cheese, yogurt, and sandwiches. She also nurses 4 times a day.

Sleeping: She has been going to sleep around 7pm. She has been waking up around 5am to nurse and will go back down until 6 or 7. She takes 2 naps that range from 30 min to 2 hours. Usually the sum of both nap times is no more than 2 hours though.

Other milestones...

Still 6 teeth (4 top, 2 bottom), she can clap (seems like she has been doing this a while, although I'm not sure I ever documented it), wave, hi-five, point, sign "milk", say dada and mama (said mama at 10 1/2 months), and can cruise some. She had been shaking her head "no" a few weeks ago but hasn't done it lately. She definitely expresses frustration. When she can't open something or reach something (remote control, cord, etc), she will let out a frustrated yell. She just got over having a cold - she had fever and runny nose for several days.

That is all I can think of now. She is growing up and it makes me a little sad but at the same time each new stage is so much fun and brings out more of her personality so I really have nothing to be sad about. I can hardly take my eyes off her as she is very curious and in to everything. I love this girl so so much!

Baby Doll

My little baby has a little baby doll of her own that she absolutely adores. I think it is the cutest thing to see her love on her baby doll so much. Nana gave her this doll a while back. I am not sure when her attachment began, but it has definitely become stronger the past month or so. We take the baby with us most places now. She knows the words "baby doll" and gets very excited if I say - "Cambry, let's go get your baby doll". She will start smiling and excitedly babbling. She clutches her baby tight and will hold onto it when we go places.

The baby doll can get her to smile so big. That is how we got the cute pumpkin pictures.

When we were in the Hotel in Asheville and she was having trouble sleeping, we gave her the baby doll and she snuggled up to it.

I just hope we don't lose this baby doll. Maybe we should buy another to have on hand just in case!
