Baby #2 Bumpdate: 29 Weeks

Here are some comparison pictures to my pregnancy with Cambry. I am definitely bigger at 29 weeks that I was with Cambry. But at least I feel like the gap is closing. Early on in this pregnancy I felt like I was about 8 weeks ahead of where I was with Cambry. Now I am thinking maybe I am only about 3 weeks ahead. I think I look similar in size to my 31 week picture with Cambry, or maybe slightly bigger. Maybe just wishful thinking, but I am just going to convince myself the gap is closing :)

How Far Along:  29 Weeks

Baby's Size:  Butternut Squash

Maternity Clothes: Yep! I am still trying to squeeze into some regular clothes too, but most shirts are too short.

Movement: Lots of movement.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night though. It also seems like I have so many dreams each night.

Symptoms: Low energy, feet swell a bit by the end of the day, restless legs, and braxton hicks each day. Also this week I have a cold, but that is not due to pregnancy. Oh, and I already feel the urge to waddle. I definitely try not to in public but at home sometimes I just have to. My belly definitely feels huge and heavy.

Food Aversions/Cravings:  Nothing new really.

Best Moment this Week: Being back home after a week away.

What I miss: Having energy, being able to maneuver easily, bending down easily, shaving easily, and being able to eat raw cookie dough.

What I am Looking Forward to: Having another ultrasound. I can't wait to see her again! Although I don't think I will get one until maybe 36 or 37 weeks

Goals: I am keeping the same goals as I wrote last time since I just posted my previous update a few days ago and I haven't completed those goals. Hang the curtains in the nursery and buy a big frame. Also to start researching/decide on which video monitor to get.

Dentist Appointment

Cambry had her second Dentist appointment this morning. She was perfect the whole time - I was so proud of her. They have a great little area for the kids to play while you wait. Then she laid so still the entire time while the Dentist cleaned, flossed, polished, and put fluoride on her teeth. She didn't fuss or squirm at all. They had to polish off some spots because we have not been brushing very well apparently. It is just crazy because we don't give her juice or sweets and we try to brush twice a day but she still gets stains. Anyway, we need to start brushing better!

Rush Week

Greg and I spent the past week in Branson, Missouri with more than 300 others on our youth trip called Rush Week. It is a mix between summer camp and a mission trip. This was Greg's 3rd year to go, and my 2nd year. I went 2 years ago when I was pregnant with Cambry. I was so nervous about this trip. I had never been away from Cambry that long (8 days/nights!). I was also nervous I just wouldn't have the energy to survive the long days. I feel high-maintenance when I am pregnant with my constant need to have access to food, water, restrooms, and a place to sit down. It was about a 13 hour drive there (including stops).

Here is one of our Sonic stops when the girls started singing and dancing to Father Abraham.

It was such a great trip though. God was so faithful to give me strength and energy to get through all of the days. I had a great group of 7th grade girls. They were so good and so sweet the entire time. We had some really great discussions during small group time and it was neat to hear so many of the students' testimonies of how God spoke to them throughout the week. Here is my small group at Silver Dollar City.

This was one of the service teams in front of the fence they painted. I was on the Evangelism team and we went to various neighborhoods talking to people and handing out flyers for VBS. We also helped out with a great ministry called Jesus Was Homeless where we got to deliver meals to people.

This was at Silver Dollar City - Greg on the roller coaster. Unfortunately pregnant girls can't ride the roller coasters :(

One night we had a Hoe Down. It was a lot of fun. Me and my huge belly participated for a while until I was worn out.

There were silly challenges each day, and one was to get a picture with a bearded man. Our group got this picture.

I am so glad I got to go on the trip but I was also so glad to be back. Cambry stayed in Waco with Greg's parents. We are so thankful to them for taking great care of her all week and letting us go on the trip. She had an absolute blast. We only got to facetime with her one day but it did not even look like she missed us AT ALL. We were a little sad about that, ha! But I guess it was just a huge answer to prayer because I had been praying that she would not feel lonely or sad. She got to spend lots of time with her cousins and Aunts and Uncles. We got tons of pictures and videos throughout the week and she just looked like she was having so much fun. She is probably bored now that it is just me and her this week :) I am so glad to be back with my baby girl!!

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 28 Weeks

This week's update is a bit late. Greg and I were in Branson all week with HFBC youth group. I will do a separate post on that later. It was a great week but I am so glad to be back!

Hello 3rd trimester! I am now seeing my doctor every 2 weeks. My belly feels enormous and I can't believe that it is going to keep growing for 12 more weeks.

Special new category for this week...

Most Random Comment of the Week Ever:  While in Branson helping deliver some free meals, a man noticed my huge belly and started asking me how far along I was. He could not get over the fact that my belly button had popped out (it showed through my shirt) and asked "Is it SUPPOSED to do that?" while poking it. Then he asks - "Hey, how much did you weigh before you got pollinated?" POLLINATED. We were all just dying laughing. Shock and awe. True story folks.

How Far Along:  28 Weeks

Baby's Size:  Large Eggplant

Maternity Clothes: Yep! I am still trying to squeeze into some regular clothes too, but most shirts are too short.

Movement: Lots of movement. This pregnancy is very similar to my pregnancy with Cambry. I am so curious what position she is in. I feel most of the movement at belly button level or a little higher and on both sides. I am thinking maybe she is diagonal. Cambry stayed that way for a while.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night though. It also seems like I have so many dreams each night.

Symptoms: Low energy, feet swell a bit by the end of the day, restless legs, and braxton hicks each day.

Food Aversions/Cravings:  Nothing new really.

Best Moment this Week: Besides all the fun at Rush Week, being reunited with Cambry after having been gone for 8 days! (more on that later)

What I miss: Having energy, being able to maneuver easily, bed down easily, shave easily, and being able to eat raw cookie dough :)

What I am Looking Forward to: Making more progress on the nursery.

Goals: Hang the curtains in the nursery and buy a big frame. Also to start researching/decide on which video monitor to get.

Dressing up Little Girls

We are so blessed to have so many adorable hand me downs for Cambry. Jill has let us borrow tons and tons of clothes, so I very rarely have to buy anything. And Hollyn has the cutest clothes so it is all such nice stuff! I am so thankful for that. If I do buy something, it is usually some kind of staple that she needs like a pair of leggings, or shorts, or shoes, etc. But of course with girls clothes there are so many cute things out there it is tempting to splurge on something cutesie. So I decided I would have a tradition of buying Cambry a really cute birthday dress each year. And I will do this with little sis too. Hopefully they will even enjoy the tradition when they are teenagers and we can go shopping for a dress together.

This was Cambry's dress from her 1st birthday. I ordered it from this Etsy shop. I love this dress and she still gets a lot of wear out of it. These knot dresses are great because they can grow with them. And you can put leggings and a white long/short sleeve shirt under this for cooler weather. I still think she will be able to fit into this dress for quite a while.

I just bought her this dress for her 2nd birthday. It is from SweetHoney. This is also a knot dress but the knots are in the back. So hopefully this will fit her for a good while too. Her birthday is not until December but I wanted her to have a cute dress that she could also wear in some newborn sibling pictures so I went ahead and bought it now. It is a little big but she will grow into it.

I have yet to buy any clothes for baby #2. We don't really need any, so I am trying not to just spend excess money. Although I have been searching Etsy for a cute headband and bloomers that she can wear for newborn pictures. Speaking of newborn pictures, that is something on my to-do list to get ready for. We are just going to take them ourselves again. I need to look around for a cute basket or some other prop to put the baby in. Also I will probably buy some fabric again to hang as the backdrop for some of the pictures. And I was thinking that the stenciled wall may make a good background as long as the lighting is good in that room.

There are also so many cute matching outfits for sisters on Etsy. I definitely want to get some matching outfits but I will probably wait a while on that until little sis is a older...or at least past the infant stage. Oh how I love all these cute little girl clothes. Kinda makes me wish I knew how to sew!

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 27 Weeks

Almost in my third trimester!

How Far Along:  27 Weeks

Baby's Size:  Cauliflower

Maternity Clothes: Yep! And still trying to squeeze into some regular clothes too.

Movement: More and more all the time. I love when she presses something against my stomach and I can feel a body part. I can never tell if it is an arm, leg, foot, etc, but I am always amazed at that.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night though. It also seems like I have so many dreams each night.

Symptoms: Low energy, feet swell a bit by the end of the day, restless legs, and some braxton hicks

Food Aversions/Cravings:  Nothing new really.

Best Moment this Week: Going to Taste of Texas with Greg.

What I miss: Having energy, being able to maneuver easily, bed down easily, shave easily.

What I am Looking Forward to: Getting the crib bedding in. I am not sure when it will be done, but I am so excited to see it.

Goals: I bought curtains for the nursery but haven't bought a curtain rod yet. I know this next week is going to be super busy so my goal is just to survive :)

Cambry 19 Months

It feels like I just wrote your 18 month post! Well now you are 19 months and oh so fun as usual. And looking like too much of a big girl! Luckily you still have some baby chub left and when you run around the house in a onesie you still seem so adorable and babyish to me.

Skills: Just like last month, your vocabulary continues to expand rapidly. I can't even type out all your words because there are just so many. You repeat so much of what we say. And you understand how so many things work. You can be shy around new people but at home you talk non stop. From the time you wake up to the time you go to bed you just love to talk. Your favorite or most frequently used words are: mama, dada, baby, bus, stuck, bye bye, truck, ride, trash, wa wa, wash, please, push. You really like it when we hand you something to throw away. You also ask to wash your hands a lot. You are getting good at saying please and it is so sweet we can hardly ever resist it. We are working on teaching you shapes and so far you know heart and star really well and point them out all the time. You have also recently started asking to go pee pee on the potty. Sometimes I let you sit there but you don't do anything. You are still a long ways from being ready to potty train (and so am I!) but you are in the early stages of starting to be aware of it. Update: Cambry went pee pee on the potty for the first time today!

Likes: You still love Wheels on the Bus. We listen to the song every time we go in the car and you also watch the show almost every day. You do the hand motions and "sing" the song all throughout the day. You also still love your baby and blanket. You are such a good little mommy - you try to change your baby, rock her, give her food and water, put Chapstick on her, give her medicine, etc. I have been putting some anti itch medicine on your mosquito bites and you love it. You will scratch your legs several times a day and say rich (itch). I say, do you need medicine? And you say memice (medicine). Then you come sit down and show me all the places you need it (but really your bites are all healed). You love Chapstick. You will carry it around all day and open and close it and pretend to apply it. We gave you an almost empty tube that you love. But you still know where we keep our Chapstick in our nightstands and will go get it and say "mama's" or "dada's". You love going on buggy rides at church. When we go during the week for workout you say ride the whole way down the hall and your teachers know you are dying for a ride as soon as you get there. You do great in the childcare there and on Sunday mornings.

Struggles: Vegetables are still a struggle as usual. Other than that you are pretty laid back. You do get upset sometimes when I take something away or do not let you get into things, but I can usually divert your attention somewhere else. If not we have started trying some time outs in your crib. You hate this but you usually are fine afterward. When you don't want to do something (like get your diaper changed or come with me to get dressed or do your hair) you will immediately drop to the floor and lay on your tummy. You don't throw a fit (although you do know how to do that), but just lay there flat, sometimes smiling and thrusting your legs. It is so funny.

Schedule: This is the exact same as it has been. Wake up usually between 6:30-7:00. Nap around 1pm. This nap lasts between 1 and 2 hours normally. You will also fall asleep in the car if we are running morning errands. Bed time is 7:30.

You have 16 teeth (I think). You wear around 12-18 or 18-24 month clothes. You wear size 5 or even 6 shoe. Your hair is growing like crazy.

We think you are the sweetest, most beautiful little girl in the world!

Good Eats

We did a lot of eating this weekend. It started out on Saturday morning when I made breakfast. Since we were out of town visiting family for Greg's birthday (which was in June), I didn't get to make him breakfast that day. We have been pretty busy lately so finally we had a free Saturday morning. I made a breakfast casserole in the crock pot and monkey bread minis. I did not like the breakfast casserole at all. It didn't help that I overcooked it either. It said cook overnight on low 8 hours. I did 6 1/2 since I know my crock pot cooks faster, but it was still overcooked. Anyway, I will not be using that recipe again.

Later that day we hung out with D and little D. Cambry LOVES little D especially. Greg grilled some delicious hamburgers and corn and we had watermelon too for lunch.

D wanted to decorate a cake. At first she told me she wanted to make a hippo cake. Um, who do you think I am, the Cake boss? I don't know how to make a hippo cake. So she settled for a mini mouse cake. This was still very challenging but she did it by herself and did a great job.

Sunday evening my parents came over to babysit Cambry while Greg and I went out on a date. We had a gift card to Taste of Texas and enjoyed some great steaks. Luckily we got there early because toward the end of our meal lightning struck a transformer and some of the power went out. They stopped serving food for the night after that. After our meal we went to Starbucks and hung out for a while.

We had a fun time but gosh we are so old I think we were home by 9! But hey I am pregnant and always tired so at least we made it that long :)

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 26 Weeks

How Far Along:  26 Weeks

Baby's Size:  Scallion

Maternity Clothes: Yep! And still trying to squeeze into some regular clothes too.

Movement: More and more all the time.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night though. It also seems like I have so many dreams each night.

Symptoms: Low energy, feet swell a bit by the end of the day, and some braxton hicks

Food Aversions/Cravings: Can't think of anything particular. I have been eating a lot of ice cream and grapes lately. Not together.

Best Moment this Week: Finishing the stencil in the nursery. It felt like a big accomplishment!

What I miss: Having energy, being able to maneuver easily.

What I am Looking Forward to: Going on a date night. We need one soon!

Goals: I finished the stencil! I am so excited to have it done and I love how it turned out. It was not nearly as difficult or time consuming as I expected. It still took a while, but fun to do. My goal for this week is to buy curtains for the nursery. And also to decide on a name soon. I think we are close!

It is hard to get a good picture of the stencil because it looks so light in photos, but this gives you an idea. It somehow shows up more or just looks better in person.

And I found this cute (and cheap!) rug at Garden ridge. The room definitely needed something in there to absorb the sound because the wood floors just make everything echo.

The wooden dresser will get moved to Cambry's room and the changing table from Cambry's room will get moved in here.

Around the House

This weekend we did a lot of things around the house. I started the stencil in the nursery and made some good progress. Greg did a lot of things around the house and yard, including planting some crape myrtles. We took a few pictures on Sunday before chuch since Cambry and I were in matching colors.  I love that I will have another girl to wear all of Cambry's cute clothes again. Most of them are all borrowed from her cousin Hollyn. That is Hollyn's dress below that I just put on Cambry for the first time. So cute and good to know another little girl can wear it in a couple years!

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 25 Weeks

How Far Along:  25 Weeks

Baby's Size:  Rutabaga (what is that?) or 13 1/2 inches and 1 1/2 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Yep! And still trying to squeeze into some regular clothes too.

Movement: She moves quite a bit.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night though. It also seems like I have so many dreams each night.

Symptoms: Low energy, feet swell a bit by the end of the day, RLS, and I got my first foot cramp last night. It is like a charlie horse in my foot. I got a lot of cramps/charlie horses with Cambry.

Food Aversions/Cravings: Can't think of anything particular.

Best Moment this Week: Celebrating my friend's baby-on-the-way,and making progress on the nursery!

What I miss: Having energy, being able to maneuver easily.

What I am Looking Forward to: Greg having tomorrow off work, and also working on the nursery more.

Goals: I ordered all the fabric and mailed it in to have the crib bedding made. I can't wait to see how it turns out! We also made some good progress on the nursery this week. We cleared out the room mostly up the crib, and I bought a number of things for the nursery. I  think I found a rug I want to get at Garden Ridge, and I still need to get some white curtains. In the pictures below - nothing is in the final spot. Things are hung on the wall on existing nails just so I can see how things are looking together. My goal for this week is to practice with the stencil and make a plan on how to tackle it. I bought stencil adhesive spray and some brushes today. I have watched a few how-to videos. I think it may take forever. If anyone has any tips on stenciling (Elizabeth?) please share!

iPhone Photos Lately

She loves sleeping with her blanket over her face. Awesome.
