18 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #3

How Far Along: 18 Weeks

Baby's Size: Bell Pepper

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity clothes and a mix of dresses.

Movement: I feel him move every day but the kicks are still small.

Sleep: Great. Always a bathroom trip though.

Symptoms: Still nauseous. It is not too bad during the day most days, but I get more nauseous in the evening. And I have lots of that yucky/weak/lightheaded feeling. I hope it doesn't last the whole time!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Same things. Milk and cereal, popsicles/slushies, and also salad with oil and balsamic vinegar. Lots of vinegar.

Best Moment this Week / Baby Prep Progress: We had a date night (actually a double date) while the kids were at church for PNO. We tried out a new restaurant called Downhouse in the Heights and then played games. Also I finished baby boy's mobile. I really like how it turned out. I bought a bunch of different fabrics and cut them into strips and tied them on a metal hoop like the one I saw on Etsy. I also bought a small rocking type bouncer (used). We had borrowed bouncers for both girls so we didn't have one this time around.

What I miss: Feeling normal.

What I am Looking Forward to: We have a music class for the girls this week that I am looking forward to. We are just starting to get out of the house a lot more and it is nice.

17 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #3

How Far Along: 17 Weeks

Baby's Size: Potato

Maternity Clothes: Mostly all maternity clothes. I don't have many maternity pants/shorts so I have been wearing some of my non-maternity dresses because they are comfy.

Movement: I feel him move every day now. It is really fun to feel and the movements are getting a little stronger. It is still really hard to feel from the outside so Greg has not felt him yet.

Sleep: Great. Always a bathroom trip though.

Symptoms: Still nauseous. It is getting better during the day, but starts to kick in stronger in the middle of the afternoon. But I have this weird lightheadedness/weakness all the time. I pretty much never feel normal/good. When I go to the grocery store, by the time I am in the checkout line I am leaning over my cart needing to sit down. I can't really describe it except basically I can not do much for long before I need to sit. I hope this goes away!!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Milk and cereal, popsicles/slushies, and also salad with oil and balsamic vinegar. Lots of vinegar.

Best Moment this Week: Having a 3 day weekend with Greg home and having my parents and Ashley over for dinner on Memorial day.

What I miss: Feeling normal and doing fun stuff.

What I am Looking Forward to: Date night on Friday! We are using our church's PNO and we are going out with another couple. We haven't planned what we are going to do but I am really hoping I will be feeling decent that night.

Lainey 19 Months

Our little Lainey bear is 19 months! And guess what...we have a walker!! Our precious girl is now walking all over the place. We are so proud of her. She started taking her first steps around 18 months. She would take a couple super fast steps and basically fall forward into whoever was ready to catch her. Each week she got more balanced and confident. She still falls all the time but she is so determined and persistent. She wants to go go go. Today at the library I was trying to renew my card and check out our books and baby girl was going in all directions and trying to escape out of the library.

She has also made some great progress on food. My last update was 16 months and she was still on formula and purees. She still has those things but can also chew a number of foods. She can eat mum mums (dissolve-able rice cakes), veggie sticks, graham crackers, bananas, berries, black beans, and avocado. She is a hoarder so you have to regulate how much she gets otherwise she would shove everything in her mouth at once. She is also starting to like almond milk so hopefully one day we can stop paying all that money for Nutramigen!

She is always busy playing with toys or getting into stuff. She loves taking things out of cabinets. She likes to carry things in her hands. She also has started liking baby dolls - or at least carrying them around sometimes. She loves peekaboo under a blanket and loves when Daddy wrestles her. She cries dramatically if you take something away from her. She will giggle when you tickle her.

She is the best sleeper still. She falls asleep within minutes of laying her down and rarely ever makes a peep. I am incredibly thankful for this. Her nap is around noon and she usually sleeps for 2 hours. I am loving the sleep now because I know when baby brother comes it will be back to middle-of-the-night feedings and exhaustion.

Lainey still does 3 therapies a week - PT, OT, and ST all on Thursdays. It is a busy day but she does great.

I often think how this year is sooooo much better than her first year. That year was so hard. Endless doctor appointments, constant anxiety, waiting on numerous test results, etc. There are still hard days, but overall things have gotten much better and we can enjoy her so much more. Who knows what the future will bring but we are very thankful for all the progress our sweet girl has made.

16 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #3

Gosh the picture quality is terrible. We have just been snapping iphone photos because getting out the good camera is too much effort.

For comparison sake, here are the photos of my pregnancies with Lainey (left) and Cambry (right). I am surprised that my belly is actually comparable with the Lainey picture. Although I feel WAY bigger in person.

How Far Along: 16 Weeks

Baby's Size: Avocado

Maternity Clothes: I have been sticking to workout type clothes since we haven't been going a ton of places, and otherwise maternity clothes.

Movement: I felt the baby move this week! It is so fun to feel. They are still such tiny little movements and not too often, but very exciting.

Sleep: Great. Always a bathroom trip though.

Symptoms: Still nauseous. This past week I thought the nausea was starting to improve. I had a couple decent days where I wasn't terribly nauseous during the day and I was actually motivated to go to Hobby Lobby and get some supplies to make baby boy's mobile. But then I had some bad days so I'm not sure if things are getting better. I do think the daytime nausea is slowly improving, although nights can still be bad. And l have been really lightheaded and weak/tired during the day. Thankfully no headaches this week. I also have restless legs at times. Even though certain husbands don't believe in this, it IS a thing.

That is the mobile I am going to attempt to make. So far it is not turning out as cute as the picture.

Food Aversions/Cravings: Milk and cereal, popsicles/slushies, and also salad with oil and balsamic vinegar. Lots of vinegar.

Best Moment this Week: Greg worked on the closet in Cambry's room (which will be the girls' shared room) this weekend and put in a second clothes rod so we can fit Lainey's clothes in there too. He did a great job and I am so glad to have that out of the way. Although I had turned it into a cute play space (which I never blogged about...I need to post some pictures), so it is sad that there isn't enough room to play at the bottom anymore.

What I miss: Feeling normal, getting out of the house, seeing friends, going on walks.

What I am Looking Forward to: Feeling better!!!!!

Mother's Day

This weekend we went to College Station on Saturday to see Michelle graduate from med school. We are so so proud of her and all the hard work she has put in. How awesome to have a doctor in the family! Lainey stayed back with Gigi and Pa because she would have hated to sit through the graduation. Cambry did great and sat perfectly still watching Frozen on the ipad.

On Mother's day Greg made me a wonderful breakfast - homemade blueberry pancakes, bacon, and a smoothie. Then we headed off to church. They needed volunteers in Lainey's class so we helped out in nursery the first hour. Then we taught middle school and they played a funny mother's day themed game at the beginning where they had to change diapers on stuffed animals and run laps with a ten pound weight hanging by their belly. Although I argued it should have been more like a 30-40lb weight :)

That afternoon I got to take a nap and we just took it easy. I still don't feel great so I didn't want to do much. That evening we watched Mockingjay Part 1 and I thought it was great. Too bad we have to wait forever for the next one to come out!

I am so thankful for these 2 sweet girls that make me a mommy. I love them with all my heart. And I can't believe I will have another little on by next Mother's day. 3 special blessings. It was hard enough to get a decent picture this year so I can only image next year :)

15 Weeks Pregnant with Baby #3

I keep meaning to write a pregnancy update but it never gets done. So here is my first real update at 15 weeks! I look terrible in this picture and have no make up but this is what I look like most days so that's as good as it's going to get. I am even bigger this time around than last so I am definitely scared of what I will look like at 40 weeks!

How Far Along: 15 Weeks

Baby's Size: Apple

Maternity Clothes: Mostly workout clothes although I am definitely not working out. I wear yoga capris and a t-shirt or tank almost daily. If I wear real clothes then it is usually a maternity shirt. I bought a new pair of white maternity capris and a pair of maternity jorts. Surprisingly I can still button my jeans for now but I think that is because they are very low rise. It is not for lack of belly because mine is obviously popped out there.

Movement: None yet. Hoping to start feeling baby boy in a couple more weeks.

Sleep: Great. At least one bathroom trip a night. As soon as I wake up to pee I feel the nausea and I want to immediately go back to sleep to escape it for a few more hours.

Symptoms: So nauseous all the time. It gets worse throughout the day. Also I have been feeling lightheaded off and on. I hate that feeling. I have also been getting occasional headaches and one very bad one this week.

Food Aversions/Cravings:I LOVE milk, especially milk and cereal. I also have really been loving smoothies. You know, the ones I don't have to make but the ones that Smoothie King makes for me. Too bad they are so darn expensive and their loyalty program is terrible. I think you have to about 45 smoothies before you get enough points for a free one. I also bought a box of popsicles at Kroger this week because they sounded delicious.

Best Moment this Week: Having my house cleaned!! We have been having a housekeeping service because I feel so sick all the time and it is the best thing ever. I even felt productive just having them here, haha. Even though I didn't do a thing I somehow felt like I had really gotten a lot accomplished. All that hard work texting them and setting up the cleaning time...watch out world I am getting things done.

What I miss: Feeling normal, getting out of the house, seeing friends, going on walks.

What I am Looking Forward to: Feeling better!!!!!

I am so excited about this baby but wow I feel like this pregnancy has been so hard. I think I was this nauseous with the girls too but for some reason this one feels worse. I just keep thinking I can never go through this again, and I didn't think that way with the girls. Maybe because each pregnancy I am a couple years older or because now I have 2 kids to take care of while nauseous. Anyway, hopefully it will improve in a few weeks.

Boy Oh Boy

Well we found out a couple weeks ago that we are having a BOY!! We are so excited! At 10 weeks I took the Verifi blood test that checks for risk of down syndrome and a few other common chromosome abnormalities. It also tells the gender! The results took a little over a week and they were ready while Greg was in Japan on a business trip. He wanted to wait until he was home to find out together. So I asked the nurse to leave me a voice mail with the gender. I was dying to listen to it as I had to wait 5 more days for him to get home. It was killing me! I went to Happy Fatz to get some cake balls made so I let them listen to the voice mail. Again, I was dying to know. They were so sweet and excited for me when I picked them up. As soon as Greg came home from the airport we bit into the cake balls and were so thrilled to see blue!! Although Cambry was hoping for pink she ended up being excited about the blue.

I had actually been hoping for a boy. And Greg was for sure hoping for a boy. Of course we both would have been so happy for a girl too, but it is really neat to add a boy to the family. I am excited for Greg to experience the father/son bond like I have gotten to experience the mother/daughter bond. And I am happy for him to have a hunting, fishing, and athletic buddy. Of course the girls could do those things too but a boy may enjoy them more. I have been checking out the baby boy clothes when I am in a store and it is making me SO excited.

I have also been brainstorming ideas for the nursery. We will move Lainey into Cambry's room so brother can take the nursery. I really don't have to change a ton. The walls are already light blue and the rug and curtains will stay. The stencil is a little feminine but I can't bring myself to paint over it so I think it will stay. I will need to get new bedding and something for the walls. I found these wall signs on Etsy that I want to get something similar made.

We have been brainstorming names but haven't settled on anything yet. It is neat to know the gender so early this time. I had to wait until 19 weeks to find out with both girls. I feel like I have a lot to do to prepare for this boy so I am glad for the extra time. Yay for blue!
